WELCOME BACK TO MUSIC

Dear parents and studetns.

We are getting near to the higher grades, "PK" is going to "K", and "K" is going to "Grade 1" in the elementary.

Something you may know about the music class for the rest of the year is that your child may show music behaviors like:

  • sing a variety of simple songs alone and with the group.

  • become increasingly accurate in rhythm and pitch

  • experiment with a variety of instruments and other sound sources, and accompaniments on instruments

  • improvise instrumental accompaniments to songs, recorded selections, stories, and poems

  • respond through movement to music of various tempos, meters, dynamics, modes, genres, and styles to express what they hear and feel in works of music

  • participate freely in music activities

    And the rules are:

  • When you get an instrument, put it in front of you until you are told to pick it up.

  • Treat instruments with care.

  • When you hear the train whistle, stop what you are doing and stay quiet.

  • When the activity ends, stay quiet right where you are.

    • Please discuss the rules with your child so when they come to music they will know what to do and what to show -music behaviors- in the class.

      Have a good week.
